Epiphone Prophecy Victory FR Obsidian Storm Satin — Modern Performance for Heavy Tones

The Epiphone Prophecy Victory FR Obsidian Storm Satin is a reimagined modern electric guitar from Epiphone's redesigned Prophecy series, built for players who demand speed, precision, and tonal authority. A satin-finished mahogany Victory body topped with a highly flamed maple veneer pairs classic geometry with a contemporary, aggressive visual identity. At its core sits a thermally aged one-piece maple neck reinforced with graphite rods for long-term stability. The 25.5" scale length delivers the string tension and clarity favored by drop tunings and modern high-gain genres, while the included Protector Ultralite case keeps the instrument protected between gigs.

What Sets This Guitar Apart

Two design choices lift this model above typical modern double-cuts. First, the Fishman Fluence pickups were custom-voiced specifically for the Prophecy series and deliver three distinct tonal voices — modern high-output active humbucker, vintage Patent Applied For-inspired humbucker character, and an optimized single-coil-style clarity — all switched via push/pull master volume and tone controls. Second, the thermally aged one-piece maple neck uses graphite reinforcement rods for long-term stability, while the HyperGlide profile keeps the playing surface fast and comfortable for extended lead work and complex chord shapes.

Body Construction — Built for Resonance and Stage Confidence

The body geometry and tonewood combination shape both the visual character and the resonance of this instrument. Mahogany provides a warm, focused midrange and tight low-end response, while the flamed maple veneer adds visual depth without significantly altering the acoustic profile. The satin finish keeps the surface glare-free under stage lighting and feels smooth against the forearm during long sets.

• Body Material: Mahogany — warm, focused midrange and tight low-end response
• Top Material: Flame Maple Veneer — adds figured visual depth to the satin finish
• Body Finish: Satin — reduces glare and feels smooth during long performances
• Body Shape: Victory — angular modern silhouette with extended upper bout

Neck and Fretboard — Speed, Stability, and Smooth Playability

The neck and fretboard define how the guitar feels under the fingers. A thermally aged one-piece maple neck with graphite reinforcement resists warping under string tension and environmental changes, while the HyperGlide profile encourages fast position shifts and clean articulation. The bound ebony fretboard with a 10"-14" compound radius flattens out toward the higher frets for easy bending and accurate intonation across all 24 stainless steel frets.

• Neck Material: 1-Piece Maple (thermally aged, graphite-reinforced) — long-term stability under heavy string tension
• Fretboard Material: Ebony — smooth, dense surface for articulate note definition
• Fingerboard Radius: 254-356 mm (10"-14" compound) — comfortable chording up low, easy bending up high
• Frets: 24 stainless steel — durable, corrosion-resistant, and long-lasting
• Scale Length: 648 mm (25.5") — ideal tension and clarity for drop tunings
• Nut Width: 43 mm (1.69") — Floyd Rose R3 locking nut for tuning stability under tremolo use

Electronics and Hardware — Tonal Range and Tremolo Performance

The electronics and hardware determine how the guitar responds to playing dynamics and how reliably it stays in tune through aggressive tremolo work. Fishman Fluence humbuckers provide three switchable voices without the noise floor of traditional active circuits, while the Floyd Rose 1000 series double-locking system keeps the guitar in tune through dives, pull-ups, and harmonic squeals.

• Pickup Configuration: HH (Fishman Fluence neck and bridge) — three voices via push/pull controls
• Bridge: Floyd Rose 1000 series with 32 mm block — stable return-to-pitch after tremolo use
• Tuning Machines: Grover Mini Locking Rotomatic with kidney buttons — fast string changes and accurate tuning
• Controls: Master volume (push/pull voice), master tone, 3-way toggle — full tonal range from a simple layout
• Hardware Finish: Black — matches the satin body for a unified dark aesthetic

Who the Prophecy Victory FR Is Built For

The Epiphone Prophecy Victory FR is the right choice for modern rock and metal players who need a fast, stable instrument with the tonal range to cover high-gain rhythm work, articulate lead playing, and cleaner rhythm textures from the same guitar. Players who work in drop tunings will benefit from the 25.5" scale length and the Fishman Fluence pickup voices that stay defined at lower pitches. Gigging musicians who rely on expressive tremolo work will appreciate the Floyd Rose 1000 double-locking system and the included Protector Ultralite case for safe transport between shows. Studio players looking for a single guitar that can deliver modern active humbucker tones, vintage humbucker warmth, and single-coil-style clarity will find the three-voice Fishman system especially useful.

The Prophecy Series — A Ground-Up Redesign

The Epiphone Prophecy series has been completely reimagined from the ground up, representing a full redesign rather than a simple refinement of the previous lineup. Positioned at the forefront of Epiphone's Modern Collection, the new Prophecy models combine the brand's heritage with forward-thinking performance features, including custom-voiced Fishman Fluence pickups, thermally aged maple necks with graphite reinforcement, and stainless steel frets designed for durability under demanding playing conditions. The Obsidian Storm Satin finish, multi-ply-bound Explorer-style headstock with mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo, and black hardware reinforce the series' aggressive, modern visual identity.
